Dr. Dev Brar has spent more than 25 years in the home healthcare industry focusing efforts on senior caregiving. His one goal has been to promote healthier and independent lifestyles for seniors.
Brar completed his medical schooling and training in India then came to the United States to pursue a career as a physician. Experiences from around the world and a strong entrepreneurial drive with the right perspectives led him to launch his own company. In 1996 he created a home healthcare business, Homecare Providers, Inc., with just four patients in a small windowless office, with one office nurse and a handful of field staff. Working through the ever-changing regulatory processes, with the help of carefully selected quality employees, he grew the business to become a nationwide operation from coast to coast.
Like others, Dr. Brar felt he was too often analyzing patient safety from a reactive approach and saw there needed to be a better way. In 1998 Homecare Providers, Inc. became digital providing more efficiency and accuracy with paperless charting. In 2000, they were among the pioneers to bring the use of tele-health and tele-medicine into home healthcare. The trend to keep technology in the forefront has since continued and has led to the creation of the next evolution in homecare technology companies - Source of Life Technologies.
Dr. Brar lends his medical background and expertise on developing tools and modalities that are meant to enhance the healthcare experience for patients and providers. GOAL: eliminate issues that plague the healthcare system today and improve experiences in the areas of preventative care, access to health trending and habits, online engagement, and scheduling opportunities. Simply put, he worked to develop a caregiving ecosystem using digital technology and artificial intelligence, providing all around access to tools to open lines of communication between the patient and the entire caregiving team.
Today, Source of Life Technologies strives to provide state-of-the-art products and tools that can detect imminent healthcare events of patients and/or healthy individuals, provide instant access to healthcare providers from the comfort of their own home, and makes follow-up easy and seamless. The mission is to bring peace of mind and independence among the senior community, their caregivers & family.
